Cover Board for Low-Sloping Roofs

CoverDeck is a new engineered cover board for low-slope roofing systems developed by Firestone Building Products Company and Armstrong World Industries Inc. It has 54 percent recycled content and combines high wind- and water-resistance with outstanding strength-to-weight performance characteristics.

The manufacturer says it provides superior moisture resistance and high compressive strength during installation and throughout the life of the roofing system.

Said to be an excellent substrate for most roof systems, the product is easy to cut and is approximately 50 percent lighter than gypsum-based cover boards.

Once the product’s service life on a roof has ended, it can be reclaimed and recycled. The cost to do this is minimal to the contractor and building owner because the freight cost is covered for full truckloads.
