John Pulley

John Pulley, PE, LEED AP BD+C, has been appointed as director of technical engineering for North America. With more than 30 years of experience in engineering design, project management, business development, and operations, Pulley will take the lead in managing Buro Happold’s five offices in the United States, developing systems for leveraging and sharing the firm’s intellectual assets. He also serves as a firm-wide technical resource, guides mentorship initiatives, and oversees management strategies for large-scale projects. Pulley was previously vice president/director of engineering for HOK’s San Francisco office, where he was instrumental in various projects, including the Sacramento Criminal Courthouse. He also served previously as MEP director of operations with SOM’s Chicago office.

Pulley is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies, the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, as well as the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers. He is also a part of the Commercial Building Consortium, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the U.S. Green Building Council. Pulley received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri and a Bachelor of Arts in physics from Drake University.
