Winners of the First Annual EBie Awards

The EBie Awards were created by the U.S. Green Building Council’s New York chapter, Urban Green Council, but are open to projects throughout the country. The EBie Awards recognize significant and measurable environmental performance improvements in existing buildings among building owners and operators, property managers, engineers, consultants, retro-commissioning agents and lighting designers, according to the USGBC.

There were 18 award finalists at the Oscar-style EBie Awards presentation on June 28. Finalists were selected out of 67 entries from across the country. The winners were honored at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City.

Award categories were not selected by the average gold, silver and bronze rating system and weren’t recognized based on “Best Project” either. Instead, unique categories were given to equally unique projects and designs.
