CertainTeed and the Green Standard, has developed a series of Environmental Product Declarations for ceilings, which are intended to help architects and designers make informed decisions when selecting ceiling products for customers. Each declaration evaluates how the products live up to critical environmental standards, such as production process impact, use of raw materials and recycled content, packaging, health aspects and end of life impact. The Green Standard independently verifies the data in accordance with ISO 14025.

ICC Evaluation Service Launches Environmental Product Declaration

WHITTIER, Calif. — The International Code Council’s Evaluation Service Environmental program launched its Environmental Product Declaration program to provide science-based, transparent and quality-assured information about a product’s environmental performance.

Based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), EPDs are rapidly becoming a key component of the material selection process, particularly in the building sector, according to the Council.
