Ron Whalen, LEED AP, joined Orlando-based Roger B. Kennedy Inc. as project executive in the company’s pre-construction services sector. A senior level construction professional with 25 years of experience, Whalen is a state-certified general contractor. His duties include feasibility analysis, initial programming, conceptual budgeting, permitting, pre-construction, contract negotiation and administration, project management and close-out.


McCarthy Building Companies announces that Chad Dorgan, vice president, quality and sustainability, has been named a 2014 LEED Fellow by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Throughout Dorgan’s 25-plus year career in the engineering, consulting and construction industries, he has played a significant role in the evolution of sustainability in the built environment.
The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) has named Tommy Linstroth, principal of Trident Sustainability Group and founder and CEO of Green Badger LLC, a LEED Fellow. This honor is awarded to less than 50 LEED professionals annually in recognition of important contributions to the green building movement.
Michael W. Rodriguez joined SchenkelShultz Architecture in Orlando, Fla., as a senior project manager serving as part of the firm’s greater Orlando aviation authority general consultant team. Rodriguez is a registered architect and a registered interior designer in the state of Florida and has more than 35 years of architecture experience, including more than 10 years of aviation design.
Civilight North America appointed Dennis Picklesimer as vice president of sales for the company. In this newly created position, Picklesimer will oversee regional sales managers across the country, each focusing on a targeted geographic region. Picklesimer brings to the new position more than 30 years of experience in the electrical and lighting industries, including senior leadership roles at LumenOptix, Stellar Sales Inc., Simkar Corporation and The Electric Shop.
Centria, a manufacturer of architectural metal wall and roof systems, has announced the promotion of Greg Lusty to director of product management. In this new position, Lusty will join Centria’s leadership team and will be responsible for product marketing and new product development.
KTGY Group has added Terry A. Willis, AIA, LEED AP, as a principal in the firm’s Denver office. With more than 30 years of design practice, Willis’ experience and project leadership has successfully guided a broad range of development projects to completion including high-profile commercial, retail, residential, entertainment and resort projects.
SmithGroupJJR has added Eric Kirkland, PE, LEED AP BD+C, senior vice president, as director of engineering in the company’s Dallas office. He formerly served in the same role at the firm’s Phoenix office. During his 33 years with SmithGroupJJR, Kirkland’s design work has focused on unique environmental conditions that inform and influence the energy efficiency and sustainable design performance of buildings.
Dewberry has hired Megan Sterl as a senior project manager for the newly formed energy solutions group at the firm’s Denver office. There, she will be responsible for overseeing the execution of large retro-commissioning projects across the country. Sterl has more than seven years of experience in energy solutions services, including energy audits and mechanical system design projects, concentrating on existing building retro-commissioning.
