Dewberry has hired Megan Sterl as a senior project manager for the newly formed energy solutions group at the firm’s Denver office. There, she will be responsible for overseeing the execution of large retro-commissioning projects across the country. Sterl has more than seven years of experience in energy solutions services, including energy audits and mechanical system design projects, concentrating on existing building retro-commissioning.

Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Hobbs+Black has promoted Claude Faro, RA, LEED AP BD+C to senior associate in the Ann Arbor
office. For seven years, Faro has worked as a part of the Retail Studio at Hobbs+Black on projects such as the multi-award winning City Creek Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. Claude is currently working as the project architect on the Mall at San Juan in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Vladislav (Vlad) Torskiy, ACHE, international associate AIA, has been hired as senior medical strategist at SmithGroupJJR’s Washington, D.C. office. Torskiy will provide his expertise to the firm’s health studio in Washington as well as its growing international health practice. Torskiy has nearly 30 years of planning, consulting and design experience.
Daniel H. Nall, P.E., FAIA, ASHRAE Fellow, LEED Fellow, HDBP, BEMP, has joined Syska Hennessy Group’s New York office as a vice president and regional director of high-performance buildings. Nall brings a genuine understanding of high-performance design to and is a recognized expert at several emerging technologies for high-performance green buildings.
The Green Building Initiative (GBI) has certified Lawrence (Larry) Clark, principal of Sustainable Performance Solutions LLC (SPS), as a Guiding Principles Compliance Professional. Clark completed training and passed a final exam in order to become qualified to assist federal facilities in meeting the requirements of the Energy Efficiency Guiding Principles mandated by executive order (EO) 13514.
McGraw Hill Construction announced July 30 that Harvey Bernstein, the company’s vice president, industry insights and alliances, has been elected to the National Academy of Construction (NAC). Bernstein’s election honors his lifelong career of leadership in engineering and construction research that has fostered industry innovation, sustainability and global best practices.
The board of directors at HR Green has named Steven R. Heyer, PE, LEED AP to serve as the company’s CEO. Heyer, a 34-year employee of HR Green, has held key leadership positions throughout the company, most recently serving as the president of its senior living business line and GCI Development LLC.
