Ohio City Puts Up $2 Million for Green Improvements

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The City of Columbus is offering $2 million in grants and incentives to encourage businesses in the city to make energy efficient upgrades, Columbus’ Mayor Michael Coleman announced. The funding also targets the cleanup of contaminated Brownfield sites.

TUCSON, Ariz. — A recently expanded recreation center at the University of Arizona was awarded LEED Platinum certification. OSAKA, Japan — Sharp Corp., a manufacturer of microwave ovens, televisions — and a player in the solar market — is acquiring Recurrent Energy, a solar project developer based San Francisco, in a $305 million cash deal, according to reports.
