Salt Waste Disposal Technologies Team

The Salt Waste Disposal Technologies Team — a collaboration among the Department of Energy program offices as well as laboratories, industry and academia — received the Secretary’s Achievement Award from the department for its work to combine fundamental and applied research, technology development and other elements to develop and deploy new technologies for the safe and cost-effective disposition of large volumes of radioactive salt waste. This work enables a substantial reduction in the department’s legacy environmental footprint.
