CertainTeed Ceiling’s Ecophon acoustical fiberglass ceiling panels now feature 3RD Technology, a fiberglass manufacturing method that combines a high-recycled content with a renewable plant-based binding agent. The new binder significantly reduces the environmental impact of the Ecophon product line, according to the company. This reduction is equivalent to removing more than 800 vehicles from the roads. Ecophon utilizes 70 percent post-consumer recycled content and the panels are manufactured in facilities that derive a large percentage of their electricity from alternative energy sources while also striving to reduce packaging and transport wastes. Ecophon panels with 3RD Technology contribute to a healthier indoor environment and provide excellent sound absorption with world-class quality, according to the company.
