Alan Shepherd

Alan Shepherd, PE, LEED AP, the new vice president and director of the WSP Flack + Kurtz Built Ecology practice, is based at the firm’s San Francisco office. Overseeing the specialty practice, Shepherd will lead project teams to provide analysis, design and consulting to clients on issues related to energy and carbon, indoor environmental and water quality, as well as LEED. Shepherd previously served at multi-disciplinary design firms, where he developed and implemented solutions and approaches to design for various building types like laboratories and academic buildings. A registered professional engineer in California, Shepherd is also a chartered engineer recognized by the British Engineering Council. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Northumbria University in Newcastle and earned his Master of Science degree from the University of Cambridge; both are located in the U.K.
