PROMOTION — MBCI’s NuRoof retrofit system utilizes light-gauge steel framing over an existing roof to create a slope that can prevent leaks, problematic rainwater discharge, and expensive maintenance costs. The system can be used for low-slope and high-slope applications.
WASHINGTON – NASA recently announced its Space Technology Program and chose two companies, Deployable Space Systems, out of Goleta, Calif., and ATK Space Systems, of Commerce, Calif., to develop advanced solar arrays for future spacecraft. NASA argued that high-power solar electric propulsion was one of the keys to extending humanity’s reach into space in terms of manned space travel, communications satellites, and unmanned exploration. NASA also said the new systems would feature dramatically reduced weight and size requirements.
Cotton Armor, a hybrid solution, was added to Applegate’s acoustical panels and baffles product line. Using the ancient acoustical properties of cotton, the unit is technologically coupled with a proprietary production process resulting in defense against unwanted noise, according to the company. The sound panel measures 2 feet by 4 feet and comes in 1-inch and 2-inch, three-pound density baffles. The 21st century fiber process, allows users to create custom and one-off designs with Cotton Armor.
Charles Perry Partners Inc. (CPPI) has appointed Brian J. Hayes as South Florida regional director/manager at its South Florida office in Vero Beach. Hayes rejoined the company in 2009, having earlier served as project manager from 1999-2003. Under Hayes’ leadership, CPPI recently completed modifications to the Indian River School District Thermal Energy Storage Plants.
