Greenguard Certifies 19 KI Products

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Greenguard certified 19 products from KI, a manufacturer of furniture and wall systems for the education, healthcare, government and corporate markets.

The products that received Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certification include tables, workspace systems and storage product. Several other KI products were certified during the last year.

The certification process is managed by the Greenguard Environmental Institute, a nonprofit organization that is an ANSI accredited standards developer. Products must pass a series of tests that determine chemical emissions before they received certification. The method for testing and certifying furniture was developed and validated with the U.S. Envrironmental Protection Agency’s environmental technology verification program.

“Specifiying Greenguard-certified furniture is a crucial step for customers who want to achieve LEED certification,” says Norman Nance, vice president of marketing, architecture and design, and environmental initiatives. “Obtaining Greenguard certification for all of our products is an important initiative for KI to help our customers meet the standard for LEED certification and to help protect the environment.”
