Wendy Landry and Joanna Switzer joined the consulting firm Green Building Services Inc. of Portland , Ore. , as green-building specialists. They both previously worked at GreenTime LLC and have more than 25 years of combined experience. Both women are affiliated with the U.S. Green Building Council.


EnviroVantage Inc., a company in Epping, N.H., that performs the removal of hazardous waste material, appointed Earl Cook as senior estimator. He comes to the company from Environmental Contractors Inc., where he served as northeast regional manager.


Michael Shirley, AIA, LEED AP, was promoted to senior vice president at FKP Architects Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience in health care, research and laboratory design. He is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and is NCARB certified.









Gossett

William Gossett, AIA, NCARB, senior project manager of Commissioning and Green Building Solutions Inc., was named secretary of the newly formed Northeast Georgia section of the Atlanta chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He has more than 35 years of architectural experience and was the architect for the first LEED-certified office building in the Southeast.


Ratcliff, an architectural, planning and interiors firm in Emeryville, Calif., has made several changes to its staff. Gert D. Thorn, RA, AIA, NCARB, LEED, was hired as a principal at the firm. He has more than 25 years of design experience and will be responsible for business development and project leadership.

Joseph A. Nicola was hired as director of the firm’s academic practice. He is a registered architect in California and Massachusetts and is a member of the Society for College and University Planners.


Heidi Bilodeau, who has been with Ratcliff for five years, was promoted to director of marketing. Her new role will include brand management and coordination of business development strategies.


MANUFACTURERS/SUPPLIERS


UltraViolet Devices Inc., a manufacturer of UV and molecular filtration products for air and water treatment, hired Katja Auer as an applications engineer at its Valencia, Calif. office. She will provide technical support and application expertise to the company’s partners and original equipment manufacturers customers.
