Stanley L. Chiu, AIA, LEED AP, joined RTKL Associates Inc., as vice president. Chiu has 18 years of experience, primarily with healthcare and higher-education facility planning. He will work in the firm’s Los Angeles health and science studio and lead activities in the western United States and Asia.
Remco, a California-based recycled aggregate materials company that specializes in eco-friendly landscaping materials, named Dalena Larson director of sales and marketing. Larson is responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing, including the launch of the company’s latest product, GreenRock.
Julie Barrett was hired as business development director at the Long Beach office of Heery International. Barrett brings more than 22 years of combined architecture, construction and engineering experience to Heery, a design and construction management firm.
Ric Mangum, AIA, joins HMC Architects of Ontario, Calif., as the firm’s regional management principal for Northern California. A 38-year veteran of the architectural market, Mangum most recently served as president and CEO of TBP Architecture in Concord, Calif. HMC Architects also recently promoted Chris Taylor, AIA, LEED AP, from chief marketing officer to chief practice officer.
Trinova Medical Waste Solutions, LLC, a provider of green medical waste solutions in Corona, Calif., hired Thomas Bang as CEO. Bang has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He previously worked at San Diego-based A-Life Medical Inc., where he served as CEO and president.
McDonald, Souter & Paz, a Los Angeles firm specializing in institutional and educational design, hired Laura O’Conner, LEED AP, as project manager. She is currently managing a consolidation project for the Los Angeles County Office of Education and a small learning communities project for Garfield High School.
Lenette Wells, AIA, was promoted to architect at Entech Engineering Inc., of Reading, Pa., after successfully completing the Architects Registration Exam. Wells will work in the firm’s facilities planning and design group and continue her work on sustainable building design, historic preservation and project management.
