HuntonBrady Architects in Orlando , Fla. , announced that Susan Pendergraft, project architect, has earned LEED accreditation from the United States Green Building Council after passing a rigorous exam. Pendergraft serves as a project architect on education and commercial projects, including such central Florida projects as Valencia Community College ‘s West Campus, Windermere Union Church, Signature Pharmacy, Liberty Middle School and Forest Lake Academy . Pendergraft received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas and has over 20 years of experience in the design industry.

McCarthy Building Companies Inc. has hired Judah Auld as estimator for the firm’s Texas division. In this role, Auld will be responsible for various estimating and bidding activities associated with the company’s healthcare, hospitality, condominium, office building, LEED and commercial construction projects. Prior to joining McCarthy, Auld served as estimator for Austin Commercial, participating in estimate presentations for condominium, office park and medical office building projects. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science management. Twenty-five-year-old McCarthy is the 14th largest domestic general contractor in the United States.

Craig R. Stiffler, an experienced Fortune 100 executive, has assumed the newly created position of chief operating officer of Homasote Company. Located in West Trenton , N.J. , the company is the oldest manufacturer of building products from recycled material in the United States . Prior to his affiliation with Homasote, Stiffler spent nearly 14 years at Siemens Power Generation, a subsidiary of Siemens AG. Most recently he was vice president and general manager of the $300-million, 400-plus-employee Industrial Applications Division, an OEM producing industrial gas and steam turbines and compressors used in power generation, oil, gas and other industrial processes.

Trespa North America, in Poway, Calif., announced that it has named Lee Fry as a manufacturer’s sales representative in Virginia , Washington , D.C. and Maryland . Lee, who has more than 30 years of direct product and marketing development experience, serves as a consultant to building product manufacturers as a specialist in marketing, product testing and building code issues. He is a member of the Construction Specification Institute, Metal Construction Association and the American Institue of Architects.

Draper Inc. of Spiceland  Ind., has named Clint Childress as its new green building coordinator. Childress will work with architects to answer questions about window shades and how their use can help lead to LEED certification. In addition to his new role, Childress retains his current duties as window shade product specialist. Draper manufacturers window shades, athletic equipment, audio-visual equipment and conference room furnishings.

Onset Computer Corporation has named Jack Sample as president. Sample brings more than 28 years of sales, marketing and operations management experience to the company, having most recently served as its director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Onset in 2002, Sample spent 24 years with Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies, where he held numerous management positions in the United States and Europe. Bourne, Mass.-based Onset manufactures small, inexpensive, battery-powered data loggers and embedded controllers.

Jennifer Meek has joined Enviro-Solutions as the company’s customer service representative. She joins the Ontario-based manufacturer of green cleaning products with more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, merchandising and customer service. The company also announced the appointment of John Hayes as its new regional sales manager for New England , as well as the states of New York , New Jersey and Pennsylvania . Hayes has more than 35 years of experience in the jansan industry, working with distributors throughout the U.S. East Coast. He has also represented such chemical manufacturers as Spartan, Canberra , Airkem and Buckeye.

PPG Performance Glazings (formerly PPG Flat Glass) in Pittsburgh has appointed Darijo Babic, Bill Myers and Leonard Skelton as national architectural managers. The three will lead promotional efforts in their individual territories and assist architects in the selection and specification of the company’s glass, coatings and paint products.

Babic will work with building owners, developers, architects, contractors and PPG Certified Fabricators in the southeastern United States . He will be based in Atlanta . A graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Babic has worked in quality control for PPG since 2001.

Myers, who has been with the company for 13 years, will concentrate his efforts on the northeastern United States and Canada . Most recently, he was with the company’s architectural coatings division in Pittsburgh . He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and is a certified construction document technologist. He will be based in eastern Pennsylvania .

Skelton will head up sales to the architectural and construction markets in the southwestern United States from Houston , where he is currently president of the local chapter of the Construction Specifiers Institute. He joined the company in 2000 as an architectural/engineering specialist and has advanced through various posts serving the architectural market. Skelton also is a certified construction document technologist.

Sloan Valve Company has appointed David Woodworth as network sales and engineering specialist for Sloan’s Programmed Water Technologies Division. Woodworth has worked for more than 20 years in sales and management positions at various companies, including Engineered Concepts, Inc., Kliman Sales, Inc., Jerome & Associates and R.V. Cloud Co. At Sloan, Woodworth will be responsible for all PWT sales, from design to installation, working with federal, state and county correctional facilities nationally, as well as the engineering community and energy management groups. Headquartered in Franklin Park , Ill. , Sloan manufactures plumbing products and accessories for commercial, industrial and institutional markets worldwide.

AERCO International Inc., a supplier of commercial boilers and water heating products, has announced new distribution partnerships in several key U.S. markets. The company has awarded exclusive distribution of its products in the Chicago market to Barr Mechanical Sales; in the Houston market to Cougar Sales; in the Boston market to New England Combustion; and in the Capital District of New York to Technology Plus. AERCO, based in Northvale, N.J., tabbed each of the firms for its level of HVAC systems design knowledge.

Furniture and wall systems manufacturer KI has named Rod Ganiard as executive vice president of sales. A veteran of 28 years in the contract furniture industry, He will lead all sales and marketing efforts for KI. Ganiard spent the past 15 years with The HON Company, most recently as vice president of sales. He oversaw a number of initiatives that drove significant revenue increases, including the establishment of segment sales teams. Green Bay, Wis.-based KI’s core markets are colleges and universities, K-12, health care, government, science, technology and business.

Tornado Industries, Chicago, a professional cleaning equipment manufacturer, has hired Jolynn Kennedy to head its marketing department. Kennedy’s responsibilities will include preparing the company’s marketing strategies for the coming year, including producing two newsletters-distributed to more than 4,000 subscribers, communication work, brochures and other duties. Kennedy was president of her own integrated marketing consultant agency. She had previously worked in the areas of financial services, e-commerce, technology, manufacturing and investments, as well as nonprofit organizations.
