High Strength, Fire-Shield Gypsum Board
National Gypsum released its new Gold Bond Brand High Strength Fire-Shield LITE gypsum board, developed to be 15 percent lighter, according to the company. The board also offers the potential to both improve productivity and reduce transportation costs with reduced dust and an improved strength-to-weight ratio feature.
GridMarX guide marks allow users to quickly identify lines for stud and joist framing as well as nail and screw patterns. Achieving GreenGuard Children & Schools Certification, the high strength Fire-Shield Lite features a fire-resistant Type X core and can carry an up-charge over standard 5/8-inch Type X gypsum boards, according to the company.
