Fla. Office Gets LEED Gold for Interiors Certification

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The USGBC awarded the office building of DPR Construction’s with LEED Gold for Commercial Interiors, DPR announced. The office, which recently underwent interior build-out, is located in the city’s EcoPlex and is one of Palm Beach County’s first LEED Gold-certified office buildings.

The building features VOC paint on drywall partitions, cabinetry and casework free of urea formaldehyde, office furniture composed of pre and post-consumer recycled content, carpet tile and acoustical ceiling tile with a high percentage of recycled content, a green housekeeping program, occupancy sensors and daylight dimming systems.

Additional green features include full height windows to allow a maximum amount of daylight, demountable partitions comprised of recycled materials, low flow fixtures in restrooms and common areas, cisterns for collecting rainwater and for irrigation, Energy Star appliances, high-efficiency fixtures and views for 98 percent of regularly occupied spaces.

LEED for Commercial Interiors certifies high-performance green interiors that create a healthier and more productive working environment, are cheaper to operate and maintain and create a smaller environmental footprint than traditional office buildings.
