CHICAGO — Adding to their comprehensive energy services, Chicago-based real-estate consultant, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), signed a letter of intent to acquire Washington-based CoR Advisors, a business that specializes in smart building consulting and solutions.

CoR Advisors, founded in 2009, works to transform buildings into energy-efficient, high-performance facilities. The company, a network of thousands of subscribers and followers, is considered a leader in energy efficiency due to its strategic approach to educating, consulting and solutions.

Philadelphia Office Earns City’s First LEED CI Platinum

PHILADELPHIA — Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a financial and professional services firm, debuted the completion of its Philadelphia office, which is the city’s first LEED Commercial Interiors (CI) Platinum-certified project.

The office’s renovation project, which completed in August, officially began last year when JLL moved to the 10,500-square-foot space on the 25th floor of 1650 Arch Street, a property built in 1974. The building has since undergone green building upgrades to the lobby and mechanical systems.

Empire State Building Exceeds Guaranteed Energy Savings

NEW YORK — The energy efficiency program at the Empire State Building has exceeded guaranteed energy savings for the second year in a row, saving $2.3 million and providing a model for building retrofits nationwide.

In 2011, the Empire State Building exceeded its year one energy-efficiency guarantee by 5 percent, saving $2.4 million, and in the second year, the property beat its energy-efficiency guarantee by about 4 percent.
