Solar Energy Lab Wins Design Award, Stands Out for Sustainable Materials

BERKELEY, Calif. — AIA East Bay awarded the University of Berkeley’s solar energy lab the Citation Award for its remarkable design in late 2015. Chu Hall, an alternative energy research facility housing more than 100 researchers from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), followed Berkeley Lab’s mission of creating “sustainable, carbon-neutral sources of energy” during its design and construction.

New Science Building Opens on Clayton State Campus

MORROW, Ga. — The new 58,610-square-foot, $18 million Science Building at Clayton State University reached final completion in August in time to welcome students. The new facility is intended to provide Clayton State with additional space for required laboratory classes. Construction began on the project in November 2013.

Ameren Missouri to Open New Solar Energy Center

ST. LOUIS — Ameren Missouri, a power and energy company based in St. Louis, has selected MC Industrial Inc. to construct the largest investor-owned solar energy center in the state of Missouri. The firm will manage the design and construction of the O’Fallon Renewable Energy Center, which will be located in O’Fallon, Mo.
