3M’s Renewable Energy Division named Tim Thornton as the new business director for its Energy Conservation business. Thornton was formerly the director of global sales and marketing operations for the company’s electronic solutions division, a part of the Electronics and Communications business. Thornton also previously worked in the firm’s Industrial and Transportation sector.
Tecta America Corporation, a commercial and environmental roofing solutions company, announced the promotion of COO Brynne Smith to President and CEO. Prior to joining Tecta America, Smith was with Jacobs Engineering Group, where he spent more than 18 years, and held positions of increasing responsibility. His most recent position was that of Vice President of PMCM, where he was responsible for project and construction management of buildings and infrastructure.
Skanska USA hired Shannon Arnold as senior vice president and account manager for the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas area. In his new role, Arnold will manage the company’s Dallas operations.
Maureen Guttman, AIA was named the new executive director of its Building Codes Assistance Project, a joint initiative of the Alliance to Save Energy, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy and the Natural Resources Defense Council. An architect with 25 years of experience in energy-efficient and green building design, Guttman is also the Alliance’s new senior director of building programs.
Emerson Industrial Automation named Brandon Locklear as regional sales manager for Latin America, based in Sunrise, Fla. Formerly sales manager for the North American market, Locklear will support the company’s market growth initiatives in the region. A graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Locklear was involved in technical international sales for five years, working with Latin America’s electrical power transmission distribution industry.
Emerson Industrial Automation announced the addition of Craig Wilkens as sales manager for the firm’s North American region. A 1988 graduate of Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Wilens brings 25 years of power generation experience, including equipment sales and project management, to his new role.
Gerry Bugyra was recently hired as Solar Logix’s general manager, where he will be responsible for the complete internal and external operations of the firm’s Thunder Bay, Ontario office. Bugyra has more than 12 years of experience in the Renewable Energy Sector and more than 28 years in the business management field. He plans to educate future clients about the advantages of the microFIT and FIT programs offered by the government.
McLean, VA-based design and architecture firm FOX Architects has promoted Damon Josue, IIDA, LEED AP, to the position of Associate. An Interiors Director/Associate in the McLean, VA office, Josue is a graduate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State of University. Josue’s design career spans over 13 years, 5 of which have been with FOX. Josue specializes in large corporate and government spaces.
Derek Wood, AIA, LEED AP, a Senior Architect for FOX Architects, was promoted to the position of Associate. He currently serves at FOX’s base building studio and the Building Information Modeling leader for the firm. With14 years of experience and 5 years with FOX, Wood is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, his prominent projects include: 440 First Street, 1400 Crystal Drive, and 2175 K Street in Washington, D.C.
SVTC Technologies named Gunter Ziegenbalg the company’s new president. In his role, Ziegenbalg will focus on growing the firm’s global solar business as well as defining, establishing, and overseeing the photovoltaic manufacturing development facility.
