Alison Hoagland

Architect Alison Hoagland, principal at the Portland, Ore.-based architecture design firm Mackenzie, was recently named chair of Green Building Initiative’s board of directors.

A long-time champion of sustainability, Hoagland holds Green Globes Professional (GGP) and Green Globes Assessor (GGA) credentials, is trained in thermographic analysis and was the creator of Mackenzie’s Building Science Committe. In her new role, Hoagland serves as the first woman architect to be elected GBI board chair and is the organization’s second woman chair. She has been a GBI board member since 2021 and will continue driving the board’s mission of decarbonizing the built environment forward.

“Alison Hoagland is a distinguished architect and leader in the industry, and we are thrilled for her to step into this leadership role as the chair of GBI’s board of directors,” said Vicki Worden, GBI president and CEO, in a statement. “Alison has been a tremendous asset to GBI’s board and community, executing on our mission as a practitioner, supporting market development, and providing valuable insight to decarbonization in the built environment.”
