Gunnar Hubbard
New York City-based Thornton Tomasetti announced that Gunnar Hubbard, AIA, LEED Fellow, a principal and the firm’s sustainability practice leader, has been elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA). Fellow candidates, vetted by a jury of industry experts, must be members of an AIA chapter for at least 10 years. Hubbard has more than 25 years of experience as an architect, consultant, educator and advocate for projects throughout the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He is a long-time member of the AIA, a founding member of the Maine chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a LEED user reviewer and guest expert for the USGBC, a board member of Community Housing of Maine, and board member of AIA Maine, where he is current chair of the Committee on the Environment. Hubbard graduated from the University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and holds a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Oregon.
