Google and SunPower Partner to Finance Residential Solar

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Google Inc. and Sunpower Corp., a designer, manufacturer and deliverer of solar panels and solar energy systems, have announced that they will team up to finance approximately $250 million in residential solar lease projects.

The two companies announced last week that they would invest a combined $250 million with Google contributing $100 million and SunPower committing approximately $150 million.

John Kisner

Lord Aeck Sargent (LAS) has promoted John Kisner, AIA, LEED AP, former director of the firm’s Texas office, to a principal of the architecture and planning firm. Kisner joined LAS in 2008. He relocated from Atlanta in late 2011 to become associate director of the Austin office when the firm acquired the assets of TWC Architects, and became office director in 2013. Kisner attended Rice University, where he earned his master’s degree in architecture.

A new lighting fixture by Precision-Paragon (P2) is the manufacturer’s first wet location LED fixture with efficacies up to 110 lumens per watt and a wide range of lumen outputs to address a variety of lighting applications, according to the company. The new LED LVT is a high-bay wide body vapor tight fixture available in multiple lumen packages, allowing the fixture to be used in a wide range of situations that may call for different light output requirements.
