ohn Mandyck, chief sustainability officer of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, has been elected chairman of the Urban Green Council’s board of directors. Royal Phillips announced the introduction of their new InstantFit LED T8 tube lamp. The new lighting solution will reduce the cost for facility managers replacing fluorescent tube lighting with energy-efficient LED technology, according to the company. Installers can replace fluorescent tubes within seconds, as the InstantFit T8 is compatible with most fluorescent fixtures using electronic instant start ballasts without rewiring. This results in less disruption and cost.
