University Energy Research Measures Climate, New Technology
HONOLULU — The Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI), a research unit of the University of Hawai’i Manoa, recently installed six solar photovoltaic arrays as a part of its ongoing energy-efficiency and solar research.


CHANDLER, Ariz. — The solar market is growing in the U.S., but more opportunity brings more challenges. Sun Valley Solar Solutions (SVSS), based in Chandler, Ariz., is witnessing growth in the industry with some push back from legislators.
ST. LOUIS — Ameren Missouri, a power and energy company based in St. Louis, has selected MC Industrial Inc. to construct the largest investor-owned solar energy center in the state of Missouri. The firm will manage the design and construction of the O’Fallon Renewable Energy Center, which will be located in O’Fallon, Mo.
Daniel Overbey, AIA, is a recipient of the 2014 AIA Young Architects Award from the American Institute of Architects. Overbey is currently the director of sustainable design practices at Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf Architects in Indianapolis as well as an adjunct faculty member at Ball State University, at which he teaches environmental systems to second- and third-year architecture students.
ohn Mandyck, chief sustainability officer of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, has been elected chairman of the Urban Green Council’s board of directors. Mandyck, who previously served as the board’s co-vice chair, will continue to work with organizations and universities around the world to accelerate green building.
