BOSTON — The recent renovation of Boston’s Tufts School of Dental Medicine has received LEED Gold for its level two renovation and LEED Silver for its vertical expansion project. The projects’ certifications have showed the school’s commitment to staying sustainable even in a larger and more complex space.
WASHINGTON — The green building revolution might not get a lot of air time, due to the relatively blasé headlines it tends to create, but change is still occurring, even if its mostly taking place in the background of public perception.
Instrumental in Washington University’s School of Law Anheuser Busch Hall renovation is Super Sky Products that manufactured and installed a custom dome skylight, spanning 80 feet by 85 feet over the previous outdoor space. Shielding against weathering, aging and pollution, Linetec finished the skylight’s aluminum framing in a revere gray color using 70 percent polyvinylidene fluoride coating, providing durability, according to the company.
Newly appointed project estimator of Joerin General Contractors Ltd., Brian Rosamond, LEED AP, has spent 24 years in the construction industry. He will be based in the company’s Dallas Fort Worth office.
