Solatube offers its Interior Mount 1200 model as an addition to its Solar Star family of attic ventilation products. Designed to draw hot air out and keep attics cool, the solar-powered IM 1200 features high-impact resistant panels to provide protection from hail, wind and foreign object damage, according to the company. Its long-lasting, brushless DC motor is whisper quiet and comes with double-shielded ball bearings. Available in 10-watt or 22-watt photovoltaic power source, the unit also includes a 5-wing, polymeric fan blade. The blade is lightweight and corrosion resistant, minimizing motor resistance, according to the company. Solar Star IM 1200 is backed by Solatube’s 5-year warranty on the panels and motor as well as a 10-year warranty on all other components.
