Kenneth Trump, president of Cleveland-based consulting firm National School Safety and Security Services, has 25 years of experience at public and private schools in urban, suburban and rural settings. He has worked with jurisdictions in all 50 states and has authored several books and articles on school safety. He discussed the topic with School Construction News during a phone interview.

Greenscreen offers three-dimensional welded wire trellising systems that provide a captive growing space for plants. Screens are made from recycled steel and feature an adaptable attachment clip system that allows screen panels to attach to a building façade. The wire-frame configuration can also span between structures to create a fence, free-standing screen or gazebo. The trellis system can help increase energy efficiency by adding a natural shading system to the building envelope, according to the company.

DALLAS — The new Timberglen Branch Library received LEED NC 2.1 Gold Certification and features an educational kiosk where visitors can use a touch screen to monitor the building’s resource consumption in real time.
The 18,000-square-foot library was built with a focus on reducing energy and water consumption, according to PSA-Dewberry of Virginia, the project architect.
