KI Supplies Products for First LEED-Certified Building in Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE , Ark. — The University of Arkansas’s Fayetteville campus is host to the first building in the state to become LEED-certified.

The 35,000-square-foot Innovation Center is part of the university’s attempt to create an environmentally friendly campus it includes the Greengaurd certified Genius wall from KI. Made with more than 70 percent recycled aluminum, the moveable walls are 99 percent reusable and 96 percent recycled.

Installing moveable walls helps to eliminate dust and debris associated with drywall, and reduce materials, cost and waste, according to school officials.

The center also features KI’s All Terrain tables, which are height adjustable to accommodate various user needs, and uses the manufacturer’s WireWorks panel systems to create smaller office areas within the center’s open spaces.

The university hopes to continue to design, construct and operate facilities on its campus that will have a minimal negative impact on the environment. It is also putting a focus on creating healthier work and study areas and improving operations and maintenance efficiencies.
