Trane to Perform HVAC Upgrades at Southern California University
LOMA LINDA, Calif. — Trane was awarded a $6 million contract to upgrade the HVAC systems at Loma Linda University to help the school increase energy efficiency and meet state regulations for sustainable building.
The school’s two central plants, which serve the campus and the university hospital, have outdated equipment that that fails to meet state standards.
Trane will install new high-performance plant chillers, including two centrifugal chillers and two absorption chillers, which are expected to increase plant cooling-capacity by 1,500 tons. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2007.
Loma Linda University is a health-sciences institution in Southern California that offers more than 55 programs to 4,000 students. Trane has provided maintenance services to the university for 19 years.
