New San Mateo Jail to See First Inmates March 19

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — San Mateo County’s new $165 million jail facility, the Maple Street Correctional Facility, will soon be open for business. County officials, including Sheriff Greg Munks, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony March 2 and the first inmates will be transferred on March 19.

California’s ARTIC Named Project of the Year

ANAHEIM, Calif. — The American Public Works Association (APWA) honored California’s Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) with the Project of the Year Award in the Structures category in September. The $185 million ARTIC opened in December 2014 and became the first LEED Platinum transit station in the world.

MU Health Care Expansion Earns LEED Gold

COLUMBIA, Mo. — A $190 million patient care tower addition to the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., has received LEED Gold certification. The eight-story replacement facility, which opened in March 2013, was designed by HOK, with offices in St. Louis, and constructed by JE Dunn Construction of Kansas City, Mo. It is the largest expansion ever for University of Missouri (MU) Health Care.
