MaxLite introduces the DesignLights Consortium (DLC)–qualified Recessed Troffer Retrofit Kit (RKT) as an affordable solution for safely upgrading fluorescent luminaires to the benefits of LED technology. Recently selected for a Department of Energy Gateway demonstration at Princeton University, the RKT enables installers to convert fluorescent troffers to an LED light source without removing the existing fixture. The kit retrofits troffers in T-grid drop ceilings common in offices, schools, health care facilities and public buildings.

Energy Focus Inc. introduces its new tubular LED (TLED) lamps, offering more than 150 lumens per watt to achieve energy efficiency and high performance. The new 4-foot 500D series tube uses 11 watts of power, reducing lighting energy consumption by more than 60 percent from a typical fluorescent T8 at approximately 28 watts, and nearly 75 percent over T12 at approximately 40 watts. The new 200D, 300D and 500D series products that aim to replace fluorescent lamps include 2-foot and 4-foot TLEDs with color temperatures ranging from warm white to cool white.

MaxLite introduced the Wet-Listed Marquee LED Lamp. The 2.5-watt LED lamp is ETL wet-listed and designed to replace inefficient incandescent and cold-cathode fluorescent (CCFL) lamps for outdoor signage applications at hotels, casinos, restaurants, resorts and amusement parks. The LED lamp uses a nominal 2.5 watts as a retrofit for standard incandescent, which consumes 11 watts, and CCFLs that typically consume three watts, which can result in an immediate reduction in power consumption by 16 to 77 percent or more.

Cree introduces the MR16 Series LED lamp with TrueWhite technology. Featuring a design that delivers greater than 580 lumens in conjunction with a proprietary lens, the LED lamp eliminates the glare commonly associated with 50-watt halogen MR16 lamps to deliver a soft, diffused light with a Color Rendering Index of 92. The LED lamp consumes up to 83 percent less energy and is designed to meet Energy Star qualification to deliver a rapid payback of less than one year.

The LEED Water Use Calculator from Green Badger allows users to make real-time computations to see what impact different plumbing fixture options will have on their ability to earn LEED points. The LEED Water Use Calculator app eliminates spreadsheets and the LEED online calculator, so designers can easily plug and play different plumbing fixture solutions to meet their project needs. In design meetings or on the go, users can figure out what plumbing fixture combinations will maximize the water savings and LEED points for their project.

ToughGard R is manufactured with a commitment to environmental stewardship as well as rigorous monitoring and energy management that reduces the amount of energy needed to produce it.

UniMac unveils its redesigned UW 85-160-pound hardmount washer-extractors. The UniLinc Control System is available on all larger capacity models within the UW series. The control technology enables operators to monitor data and performance indicators, and pinpoint areas where there can be increased efficiency or decreased operating costs that are associated with labor, linen replacement, utilities and maintenance. With the UniLinc controls, operators are able to manage their entire laundry operation off-site from any Internet-connected computer.

BuildingIQ has released version 4.0 of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution to optimize energy use in commercial buildings. This version builds upon the company’s award-winning Predictive Energy Optimization software and offers streamlined analytics, increased visibility into savings and improved managed services. BuildingIQ saves users 10 to 25 percent in HVAC energy costs with increased scores in LEED, Energy Star, NABERS and other sustainability measures.

CertaSize VOC-Compliant Symphony f from CertainTeed Ceilings is the industry’s only VOC-compliant flexible-size ceiling system. By offering a wide range of modular panel sizes, the new panels support a clean, custom ceiling visual by removing the clutter of air return vents, light fixtures and other mechanical elements.
