Nora Lighting expands its LED recessed downlight offerings with the Cobalt Series, a cULus-wet listed retrofit fixture for use in existing insulation contact (IC) or non-IC housings manufactured by Nora and others. Cobalt is available in 4-, 5- and 6-inch apertures and has a 1,000-lumen output. Cobalt downlights include Cree’s latest COB family of LED arrays, delivering brighter illumination and lower power consumption. The units have a high 95 color rendering index (CRI), which allows the fixtures to more realistically reveal colors similar to a natural light source.

To meet the performance and material content requirements of today’s health and sustainable building initiatives, Mermet USA introduces GreenScreen Reflect. One hundred percent PVC-free and made from naturally abundant resources such as glass and aluminum, the shade fabric reflects up to 72 percent of solar radiation for heat control. Available in seven colors, GreenScreen Reflect can enhance the aesthetics of virtually any interior application.

MaxLite expands its portfolio of ballast-compatible products with new LED DirectFit PL Lamps. The retrofit lamps convert existing four-pin fixtures to LED technology in a matter of seconds. LED DirectFit PL Lamps are a plug-and-play replacement for compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) in downlights, sconces and other four-pin base fixtures commonly used in commercial buildings. The 13-watt retrofit lamps operate directly off of a fixture’s existing ballast, allowing facility managers to reap the energy-saving benefits of LED technology in the most cost-effective way.

Volt Lighting announced the introduction of new solar LED Security Flood Lights. The lights are constructed of a main fixture/sensor assembly and a separate solar panel. An external power source is not required. These lights provide cost-effective solutions for security lighting needs. An additional feature is that the solar panel can be mounted up to 15 feet from the fixture/sensor unit. This gives the installer flexibility in choosing the best location and orientation of the solar panel.

LaMar Lighting Company has introduced the R1L/R2L Series of premium recessed LED lensed luminaires that deliver high-quality volumetric lighting and superior glare control. The contemporary style and ability to provide even illumination without the dark areas common with traditional troffers make them ideal for recessed commercial applications including office, education, health care and retail. LaMar Lighting designed a custom ribbed frosted acrylic diffuser for uniform light distribution and luminous appearance without LED hot spots.

MaxLite introduces Energy Star-qualified Adjustable LED Downlight Retrofits as an easy upgrade solution that provides endless lighting design possibilities for residential, retail and commercial interiors. Designed to fit standard 5- and 6-inch recessed housings, Adjustable LED Downlight Retrofits swivel and tilt to create custom directional lighting for wall art, sculptures, product displays and surface tops, such as counters or tables. The lens rotates up to 355 degrees and tilts up to 30 degrees vertically for limitless accent lighting possibilities, even in damp locations.

The Heavy Utility Gate (HUG) is a completely self-contained, solar-powered gate that can be instantly deployed for short- or long-term use as a security checkpoint or access gate to protect personnel, equipment and restricted areas during construction. Useable in all kinds of weather, the HUG has numerous options for allowing access, including remote control key fobs, key pad, wireless intercom or manual wired pendant. Standard features include a reflective arm for night duty, adjustable levelers, security anchor points and enclosed battery boxes.

Hubbell Lighting announced a new control device that gives lighting owners a simple way to save on energy costs: Beacon Products’ Energeni. The compact product offers an easy-to-use platform to control dimming and automatically dim the lights during unoccupied hours, and with two flexible setting options, the control system allows users to either dim based on the time of the night or on hours of operation.

The Beacon Advanced Metering Analytics (AMA) managed solution from Badger Meter combines the power of the intuitive BEACON AMA–hosted software suite with Orion Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) technology using a combination of fixed and cellular endpoints to give utilities greater control, more information and enhanced customer service. The software suite also includes EyeOnWater, a consumer portal and smartphone/tablet app that gives end users the opportunity to see how water is actually being used.

Hydro Engineering Inc. offers the Hydropad wash rack system, a component of any company’s green sustainability efforts. The Hydropad systems are platforms onto which vehicles, equipment, hardware, or components are placed in order to be washed. They are engineered to capture water and channel effluent to the gutter systems of the Hydropad. Captured effluent can then be diverted to Hydrokleen water filtration systems and sent back out to the Hydroblaster washing system for 100 percent water efficiency.
