WASHINGTON — State representative Vernon J. Ehlers (R-MI) is set to replace Rep. Zach Wamp (R-TN) as co-chair of the House Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucus.
LEED Gold Library Tracks Energy Use For Visitors
DALLAS — The new Timberglen Branch Library received LEED NC 2.1 Gold Certification and features an educational kiosk where visitors can use a touch screen to monitor the building’s resource consumption in real time.
The 18,000-square-foot library was built with a focus on reducing energy and water consumption, according to PSA-Dewberry of Virginia, the project architect.
Mesa State College Aims for LEED Gold Certification
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Mesa State College expects to receive LEED Gold certification for its new learning center, which recently won an award from the state’s energy provider and utilizes a ground source heating and cooling system.
Architecture firm HKS, with Design West, designed the $18 million, 60,000-square-foot building. Xcel Energy, supplier of electricity and natural gas in Colorado, hailed the project as the most energy efficient public building on the western slope of the Rockies.
