CHICAGO — The manufacturers of the iconic, red Radio Flyer wagon have achieved LEED Platinum for the company’s Chicago headquarters building.
Michigan State University’s Green Technology Recognized
LANSING, Mich. — The innovative South Campus Anaerobic Digester at Michigan State University received the Institutional Biogas Project of the Year Award from the American Biogas Council.
Serving both a functional and educational purpose for the university, the anaerobic digester was designed by Anaergia Inc., headquartered in Burlington, Ontario. Weiland Davco, based in Lansing, Mich., served as the project contractor while 2g Energy, headquartered in Heek, Germany, was the engine supplier on the project.

Climate Change Panel Encourages Global Effort
BERLIN, Germany — The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has released a new report that demonstrates the rising levels of global emissions of greenhouse gases despite a growing number of policies to reduce climate change.
The report, entitled Climate Change 2014: Mitigation of Climate Change, presses for major institutional and technological change in order to limit the global mean temperature to two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
LED Luminaries
Peerless, a designer and manufacturer of architectural luminaries, has announced Square, a complete suite of LED luminaires in linear suspended, wall-mount and surface-mount models, ideal for use in a wide variety of commercial office, hospitality, health care and retail applications. The luminaires feature a 3.5-inch square form and provide flicker-free, glare-free illumination, according to the company. Square luminaires deliver an expected 50,000 hours (12 to 15 years) of illumination.
Moving Glass Wall Systems
Milgard recently unveiled two new offerings for its moving glass wall systems. Consumers will now have the option of bi-fold and pocket operating styles in addition to the existing stacking option. The options respond to the increasing demand for indoor-outdoor living in homes. The bi-fold option employs a bottom-loaded operation, which eliminates the need for a structural header, according to Milgard. Milgard moving glass wall systems are available in several stock finishes including white, dark bronze anodized aluminum, and aluminum clad wood with clear vertical grain douglas fir and pine.
Flooring Collection
J+J Flooring Group’s new Artisan collection combines a handcrafted aesthetic with sustainable design. The collection, which features recycled content and is NSF/ANSI 140 Gold-Certified, also contains the Valencia and Barcelona broadlooms. Valencia is a contemporary take on the classic floral and sunburst motifs of Spanish tiles, combining a variety of icons and scales in a 4-foot repeat, while Barcelona creates the look of a ceramic mosaic with a smaller scale stylized botanical pattern.

Duro-Last Inc. announces an addition to its Duro-Guard insulation product line with Duro-Guard XPS Hybrid Fan Fold for deck to sky roofing assemblies. Duro-Guard XPS Hybrid Fan Fold is manufactured with a rigid extruded polystyrene core and wrapped with tough facers, which create a durable water-resistant board, according to the company. The fan fold is highly resistant to heat flow and moisture penetration. Duro-Guard XPS Hybrid Fan Fold incorporates a combination of both crush and cut fold methods.
