Julia S. Hughes

AIA San Diego’s 2017 Jury of Fellows has named Julia S. Hughes to its prestigious College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession. Out of a total AIA membership of more than 90,000, approximately 3 percent are distinguished with the honor of fellowship and honorary fellowship. With more than 20 years of experience, Hughes champions justice architecture that restores human potential through community-based, social-resilient solutions. In practice and advocacy, she impacts design and delivery in work that redefines sustainability through innovative strategies that support viable, thriving communities. In addition, Hughes has been a regular contributor to Correctional News over the past few years.
