George Mason to Construct Health Sciences Building
FAIRFAX, Va. — George Mason University (GMU) broke ground earlier this summer on a new $73 million health sciences building to debut in 2017. The 160,000-square-foot Academic VII/Research III building is part of GMU’s ongoing strategic plan, which includes renovating several academic buildings.

Lafayette Parish Adopts New Tracking Technology
LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in Lafayette recently began using a smartphone-based app to better track inmates sentenced to participate in a GPS tracking program. The app promises to provide greater ease and security in inmate monitoring via a widely used and easily accessible device.
Charles L. Goodman
Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, hired Charles L. Goodman, AIA, as a senior associate and senior project manager in the firm’s Dallas office. Goodman will support Dewberry’s architecture practice in the municipal, education and criminal justice markets. He is currently working on design review and quality control for the Tulsa County Jail.
