USGBC Prepares for LEED v4 Vote
WASHINGTON — This month, the USGBC is having its sixth — and likely final — public comment period for LEED v4, the latest update to the LEED rating systems, which will be voted on this summer. The USGBC is encouraging everyone to look at the most recent draft of the rating systems and provide comments on changes made since the last draft.


MOLINE, Ill. — Phase II of the Western Illinois University Quad Cities (WIU-QC) Riverfront Campus in Moline broke ground Aug. 29, and like Phase I, will be constructed using several green building elements. The new campus will provide services for more than 3,000 students; currently it serves only 1,400.
In 2004, a group of building professionals decided to form the Boulder Green Building Guild (BGBG) to help educate the community on the benefits of green building after Boulder created mandatory green building standards on new residential structures and renovations larger than 500 square feet.
As a large consumer of energy resources, health care facilities face significant operating costs and are threatened by rising and volatile energy prices.
