Foss Manufacturing Company introduces Ecospun polyester fiber made from 100 percent certified recycled plastic PET bottles. The fiber can be added to other textile products, including carpets, wall coverings, and furnishings and combined with the company’s Fosshield to create antimicrobial fabrics.
ZAP introduces the Zappy 3 Personal Transporter for economical, eco-friendly personal transportation for short to medium distances. The electric-powered vehicle features a three-wheeled scooter design with a top speed of 12 mph. It has a range of 12 miles per charge, according to the company and operates on a 36 V battery that requires 4 to 6 hours of charge time. A 260-Watt geared-drum motor is fitted to the front wheel hub.
The vehicle is constructed of high-strength tubular steel framing and features an adjustable handle bar, headlight, horn and basket.
Tecogen introduces the Premium Power Module CM-100, an inverter-based, 100-kilowatt, combined heat and power module. It provides power transfer to stand-alone operations during power outages and runs on and off of the utility grid. It features a low-emissions natural gas engine, which drives a water-cooled permanent magnetic generator.
The product is UL-certified for utility-safe interconnection and will also be UL 1547 certified. Modules meet international emission standards and operate with on-site thermal recovery system for heating water and indoor spaces.

Air Cycle offers the Bulb Eater fluorescent bulb crushing system to meet disposal needs. The OSHA- and EPA-compliant units are designed to make disposal and recycling processes more efficient, improving bulb storage, handling and safety/liability issues. The fully contained Bulb Eater system crushes spent bulbs in seconds, compacting them into specially designed 55-gallon containers. It uses a two-stage filtration process that captures 99.99 percent of released mercury vapor and particulate matter.
Stero introduces the Ecorinse series of conveyor warewashers, high-temperature systems that use less water and energy to operate. The series uses a two-stage final rinse system, consisting of 1/4-horsepower motor pumps at 165 degrees and 20psi of 180-degree water. It uses 18,000 watts less of electrical current than standard washers to maintain the final rinse.
The number of clean racks produced per hour with Erorinse is 10 percent more than the current Stero model, and gallons of water used during the final rinse is reduced by 59 percent from current models.
Triatomic Environmental Inc. manufactures the Fresh-Aire UV Commercial Series germicidal UV light system for improving indoor air quality. The system saves energy and reduces maintenance by controlling growth on cooling coils. It’s power supply uses a high frequency electronic ballast design and can accept voltages from 120-277 VAC. It’s power supply is water resistant and can be mounted directly in the air handler for smaller areas of installation.
The system can be applied to commercial air systems up to 200 tons.
Major Industries manufactures the Guardian 275 translucent daylighting panels that have the ability to flex with the force of an explosion. They have been field-tested using machine-generated shock waves that replicated actual blast conditions. The results caused no flying debris and did not endanger building occupants.
The panels offer glare-free natural light and are weather resistant. They meet anti-terrorism performance requirements specified by the Department of Defense, UFC 4-010-01.

It has 54 percent recycled content and combines high wind- and water-resistance with outstanding strength-to-weight performance characteristics.
The manufacturer says it provides superior moisture resistance and high compressive strength during installation and throughout the life of the roofing system.
