D.C. Tops Energy Star List
WASHINGTON — The District of Columbia ranks first in the total number of energy-efficient buildings, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It’s the first time in six years that D.C. has knocked Los Angeles out of the top spot.


The Green Building Initiative (GBI) announced the appointment of Vicki Worden, a long-time consultant to GBI and an accomplished leader in the sustainability and nonprofit sectors, as its new executive director. Worden was part of the original launch team that brought Green Globes to the United States and served as vice president of commercial programs for the organization from 2005 to 2010.
Randy Meyers has joined HOK’s San Francisco practice as senior vice president and leader of the office’s engineering group. With 35 years of experience across a wide variety of project types, Meyers will be responsible for overall leadership and management of the office’s engineering disciplines.
