Esther Ryskamp, AIA, LEED AP, has been promoted to associate at WDG Architecture’s Washington, D.C. office. Ryskamp joined WDG in 2011 and serves as a project architect. While with WDG, she has worked on the Varsity at Ann Arbor student housing in Ann Arbor, Mich. and on Arbor Row in the Tysons Corner area for Cityline. She is now working with Forest City at The Arris at the Yards apartment building in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON — President Obama signed a bill on Dec. 19 that would extend a tax deduction for energy-efficient commercial buildings. The bill, the Tax Increase Prevention Act includes the 179D deduction, which is only applicable for projects in the 2014 tax year.
WASHINGTON — The Department of Energy (DOE) has introduced two new energy efficiency standards in support of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan.
The new standards apply to general service fluorescent lamps (GSFLs) and automatic commercial ice makers (ACIMs).
