Airxchange is changing the energy recovery ventilation market with its new approach to the design and manufacturing of energy recovery wheels. Airxchange energy recovery wheels enable energy recovery ventilation systems to provide fresh outdoor air at one-third of the cost of conventional systems and increase HVAC efficiency by up to 40 percent. The improved dehumidification and humidification performance reduces indoor air pollution, improving the health and productivity of building occupants, according to the company.

The new Stahlin J Series of non-metallic enclosures has expanded to include three new sizes and two configurations. The new features offer more space for maximum protection at a competitive price, according to the company. Designed for harsh, aggressive environments, the J series includes a chemically-resistant fiberglass reinforced composite formulation for long product life and UV resistance, which features patented SolarGuard for the best protection against UV degradation. Franklin Electric Company Inc. announced the release of the C1 Series stainless steel submersible cistern pump, designed for use in gray water/filtered effluent service applications. The cistern pump is constructed from a 304 stainless steel motor and outer shell with engineered polymer hydraulics providing superior corrosion resistance and abrasive handling, according to the company.

Armstrong World Industries is currently offering a number of ceiling options that will gain LEED points in the new version of LEED. Owens Corning’s Foamular Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Insulation became the first rigid foam insulation in North America to undergo an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The EPD, which describes the environmental impact of a product from cradle-to-grave, was published in order to continue the Owens Corning’s commitment to product transparency and sustainability, according to the company.

Royal Phillips announced the introduction of their new InstantFit LED T8 tube lamp. The new lighting solution will reduce the cost for facility managers replacing fluorescent tube lighting with energy-efficient LED technology, according to the company. Installers can replace fluorescent tubes within seconds, as the InstantFit T8 is compatible with most fluorescent fixtures using electronic instant start ballasts without rewiring. This results in less disruption and cost.

Building product manufacturer Johns Manville (JM) added a new line of commercial and residential mineral wool to its full spectrum of insulation products. The mineral wool, which has a high melting point in excess of 2,000 degrees, can help delay fire spread, create quieter buildings, increase privacy between rooms and reduce heating and cooling costs by keeping structures warm in winter and cool in summer, according to the company. The mineral wool is made from inorganic fibers using an advanced manufacturing process. The products are dense, durable and can be easily cut.
