A network of national green building councils, the World Green Building Council consists of 25,000 companies in 98 countries.
Sustainable Lighting
Toshiba LED Lighting recently launched new high-lumen output LED lamps, the A19 and A21. The energy-efficient lamps serve as direct replacement for 60-watt and 75-watt incandescent bulbs. Ideal for recessed downlights, ceiling fans, sconces, lamps and hanging fixtures, A19 and A21 have rated lives of 25,000 hours. The A19 lamp is available in 2,700K and 4,000K color temperatures and features while the A21 is available in 3,000K and 4,000K color temperatures.
A Global Movement for Green Schools
PHILADELPHIA — The Center for Green Schools, an organization of the U.S. Green Building Council, has announced the 29 founding members of the Global Coalition for Green Schools (GCGS).
Announced at the 2013 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Philadelphia, the founding members of the GCGS have committed to establishing national coalitions for green, healthy and sustainable schools in their respective countries.

Greenbuild International Conference Begins
PHILADELPHIA — The Greenbuild International Conference and Expo kicked off today to bring together green building industry leaders from across the globe to discuss leading technologies and innovations.
The world’s largest international conference devoted to green building began with several education sessions and featured a LEED Certification Work Zone. Representatives from the world’s leading green building firms and organizations are set to present workshops focused on a wide variety of subjects from lighting to lifecycle safety.
Virginia Vineyard Earns LEED Gold Status
PURCELLVILLE, Va. — North Gate Vineyard (NGV) has announced that it has achieved LEED Gold certification for its winery as well as its new tasting room and wine production facility.
