The Cradle to Cradle Certified Program has been integrated into the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) new LEED Version 4 rating system, which will be rolled out next month. The new system will give one LEED point to buildings that use a minimum of 20 Cradle to Cradle-certified products.
IRVINE, Calif. — The US Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon 2013 ended Oct. 13 with more than 4,000 college students from 19 teams representing four countries participating in the two-year project.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Changes to the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code were approved at the 2013 International Code Council Annual Conference and Public Comment Hearings earlier this month. The updated code will reduce energy waste in new homes and offer more flexibility to builders.

Jeff Fishman has been appointed senior construction manager of McKinstry’s Spokane, Wash., office. With 25 years of experience in the mechanical construction industry, Fishman will manage mechanical renovation projects related to energy conservation and optimization as well as new construction projects. Most recently, Fishman was the senior project manager for the Limbach Company in both Maryland and California. He also ran his own construction remodeling business for 10 years.
