Dur-A-Flex Inc. recently named Patrick Meade vice president of sales and technical support. With 20 years of experience in sales and business development, Meade has focused on strategic planning, team building, negotiating and project closings. In his new role, he will work on the company’s "continued evolution" of its strategic vertical markets and customers. Meade will also be responsible for Technical Service and Strategic Accounts.

American Buildings Company promoted Thad Tiner as sales manager for the company’s Atlantic Division. Tiner has 17 years of experience in the field and has been with the company since 2003, serving in estimating, group services sales, and district sales manager roles. Most recently, Tiner served as District Sales Manager of the company’s South Division.

WASHINGTON — The Department of Energy (DOE) granted SolarCity Corp. a conditional commitment for a $344 million loan to support a record expansion of residential rooftop solar power in the United States.
Under the conditional commitment for the partial guarantee of the SolarStrong Project, the San Mateo, Calif.-based solar service provider will install, own and operate up to 160,000 rooftop solar installations on as many as 124 U.S. military bases in up to 33 states.
