Coast Guard Station embraces green practices (The Mining Journal)
MARQUETTE – The first sign that the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Marquette isn’t your typical building is a sign stating: "Reserved Parking Hybrid Only." The station, which was dedicated in August, is on its way to certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a rating system put out by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Plano Celebrates First LEED Certification for Existing Building (Plano Courier)
The City of Plano Animal Shelter has been awarded LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and has been verified by the Green Building Certification (GBCI). It is the first existing building to achieve this recognition in Plano and one of the first 10 to be designated in North Texas.
