Prison Ecology Project Addresses Environmental Issues in Prisons
LAKE WORTH, Fla. — The Prison Ecology Project was formed earlier this year in order to ad-dress the problems that arise when prisons negatively impact the environment. Not only can in-mates face possible health and safety risks, but the land and surrounding communities can be im-pacted as well.

New York-based architecture firm Francis Cauffman appointed Carol Karasek to principal, science and technology. Karasek is a practice leader with 35 years of experience in the programming, design and delivery of research and clinical facilities. She specializes in the design of academic medical centers that engage in translational research.
