Green Radiology Center Planned in Seattle

SEATTLE — The Seattle-based Swedish Cancer Institute has a plan to restore community-based radiotherapy cancer treatment in the Seattle area by applying modern building technology that is swift — and green.
 
The patented factory fabricated radiotherapy treatment vault and clinic by RAD Technology Medical Systems will allow SCI to cut traditional building schedules by 50 percent while constructing a facility in accordance with the U.S.

Arizona Town Begins Solar Project

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. — Oro Valley has begun constructing an array of solar panels on top of covered parking structures at the town hall parking lot. More than 1,000 panels will be installed.
 
The $4 million project is being funded through federal energy bonding, an Energy Efficiency Conservation Block grant and energy savings.

German Company to Build Florida Solar Array

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — German solar company Sybac Solar has contracted with Gainesville Regional Utilities to build a solar array in Gainesville, slated to be the largest privately owned solar installation in Florida when it is completed.
 
The 8,600-panel, 7-acre installation will generate two megawatts of electricity, enough to power 200 to 300 households.
