WASHINGTON — State representative Vernon J. Ehlers (R-MI) is set to replace Rep. Zach Wamp (R-TN) as co-chair of the House Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucus.
LEED Gold Library Tracks Energy Use For Visitors
DALLAS — The new Timberglen Branch Library received LEED NC 2.1 Gold Certification and features an educational kiosk where visitors can use a touch screen to monitor the building’s resource consumption in real time.
The 18,000-square-foot library was built with a focus on reducing energy and water consumption, according to PSA-Dewberry of Virginia, the project architect.

Xcel Energy, supplier of electricity and natural gas in Colorado, hailed the project as the most energy efficient public building on the western slope of the Rockies. Green Building Agency Overhauls LEED APWASHINGTON — Professionals involved in the design, construction and operation of environmentally sustainable buildings will face a revamped LEED accreditation system in June 2009 as part of a comprehensive overhaul of the USGBC’s green building rating and certification system.
