Roofing Membrane

Green Products LLC offers the Environmental Liquid Membrane System for low-sloped roofing assemblies. The roofing membranes made with are agricultural soy oil-based polymers and designed to penetrate the existing roof substrate and create a permanent bond. They are made to create an overlapping waterproof membrane, which prevents bleed through and adds the product’s high emissivity and long term UV resistance.

The system is 100 percent environmentally friendly with high bio-based content products and requires a single-coat application.

Hand Dryer

Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division recently updated its high-speed Jet Towel hand dryer with a built-in, energy efficient heater. The product never comes in contact with hands, increasing sanitary conditions, and takes between five and six seconds to dry hands, according to the manufacturer. It is available in a 120V model and installation requires no reinforcement.

Water from the user’s hands is collected in the unit’s drain tank, keeping bathroom floors dry. It will automatically shut off after 30 seconds of use and can be mounted at any level.

Particleboard

ATC Panels introduces EVR Particleboard, an environmentally preferable product that contains 100 percent recycled and recovered wood waste or fiber generated from wood residue, and complies with the European E-1 standard for low emissions. It is available as raw board or can be specified for thermally fused melamine panels.

Sizes include boards that are 4 and 5 feet wide in lengths of 6, 8, 9 and 12 feet with thickness ranging from 0.5 to 1.125 inches. The company also manufactures low-, medium- and high-density fiberboard, gesso-coated MDF moldings and TFM panels.

Lighting Controls

The Vari-Ballast Control lighting control from IEPC Corp. uses on-site, remote and aggregate Web-based controls to provide customers with energy-efficient lighting. The control reduces the number of ballasts and amount of rewiring necessary to install a standard fluorescent system. The lighting is a stand-alone energy management system that reduces the demand on power in real time.

The control can replace magnetic ballasts, timers, relays, control panels and the wiring required to connect each lighting fixture to all other external parts as well as the control panel.

Alsons manufactures the Fluidics, a water-saving showerheads that offer a 36 percent decrease in water usage compared to standard-flow systems. It features spray technology that controls the water’s shape and velocity while delivering a full-body spray.

The product provides a water-saving flow of 1.6 gallons per minute, compared to the standard 2.5 gpm.

Uponor manufactures radiant flooring, which uses the floor as a hydronic radiator. The system can be installed under any surface — including tile, marble, wood, carpet and concrete floors — and is expected to save up to 40 percent in energy cost when compared to other heating methods, according to the manufacturer.
