Cannon Design, a national architectural, engineering and planning firm, appointed David Ordorica, AIA, and Edward Mello, AIA, LEED AP, associate vice president at its Buffalo, N.Y., office. Ordorica has more than 20 years of experience in architectural design, project management, documentation, contract administration and field supervision. Mello has more than 26 years of experience in design, project management, construction documentation and administration. In addition, the firm’s Los Angeles-based office appointed Craig Booth, AIA, LEED AP, associate principal. He has more than 22 years of experience working on design projects for a wide range of building types.

CxGBS Inc., a commissioning and green building consulting firm, named Steven J. Head, P.E., commissioning agent and LEED assistant. He will be responsible for developing and implementing electrical commissioning and testing procedures, writing and modifying commissioning specifications, and providing project management. The firm also hired James P. Blythe as a LEED project manager. He will manage LEED projects from inception to completion, working directly with clients, the design team and contractors.

TMP Associates Inc., a full-service architectural and engineering firm based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., announced that Barbara Vukits passed the LEED exam and received LEED accreditation. She is the twelfth person at the firm to receive the recognition.

Vision 3 Architects, an architectural and interior design firm located in Providence, R.I., promoted Daniel J. Grady, AIA, LEED AP, to senior project manager. He is responsible for the integration of energy conservation and sustainable design principles throughout the design process, and is a member of the AIA Rhode Island chapter’s Committee on the Environment.

Phil Stien of KKE Architects, a full-service firm providing architectural, interior design and comprehensive planning services, passed the architect registration examination. He has been with the firm for five years and received LEED AP certification in 2006. He leads the firm’s in-house LEED training program.

Georgia-Pacific LLC, a manufacturer of building products, tissue, packaging, paper, cellulose and related chemicals, named William Frerking vice president and chief sustainability officer. He will be responsible for the company’s overall sustainability efforts, including working to develop and implement sustainability strategies, goals, measurement and reporting.
